Tactical Military — I love the outdoors, even though I have been chased by a bear, bitten by snakes twice and almost lost a toe to frostbite. The outdoors is not for everybody and I will be the first to admit that. But there is something primal about being right there in the thick of nature.
A few years ago I got hooked on wildlife observation, the type you see on those wildlife programs on TV. What I can say is that the secret to getting as close as possible to your subject is blending into the environment.
They Blend In
One way to blend in is to use camouflage apparel. I personally prefer camouflage military gear. I actually have a few sets of tactical military gear apparel and each one comes in different color schemes to blend in with the different environments. I have a set of white ones which are for polar bear observation. I also have two variations of green based tactical gear apparel, one for grasslands and another which suits jungle outings.
They Are Durable
The outdoors require a person who is rugged. You can expect lots of cuts and bruises, bad weather and none of the comforts of home. Needless to say, the gear that you bring along must be durable. Leave everything that tears or breaks easily at home or you will regret it later.
Your gear needs to durable enough to get through thorny bushes, rough tree trunks and the occasional wild animal attack without falling apart.
This is the reason why I choose tactical military gear for all my expeditions. They have been through weeks of mud, snow and rain and they are still going strong. Sure I am unable to get much of the stains off but I guess it just adds character to the whole ensemble.
They Have Lots Of Storage
One thing you need when going wildlife expeditions is lots of storage space. Remember, you will be gone for weeks. You not only need spare clothes, you would also need spares of everything.
I love that my ruck pack has lots of built-in compartments that make it easy to organize and access my gear. It also has drainage holes at the bottom for wet days. Be sure to store items you want to keep dry in a plastic zip lock bag.
My military gear backpack also comes with PALS webbing which make it easy to attach gear as well as smaller pouches to it. I usually carry all the stuff that I would be using often in the outer pockets and attached pouches. That said, it would be a good idea to wrap your camera lenses with some bubble wrap to protect it against light knocks if you are going to keep them in the outer compartments..
If you are serious about wildlife observation or any other activity that has to do with long-term outdoor excursions, do give a thought about investing in some quality tactical military gear. They are not the cheapest outdoor gear around, but they are tough enough to last for years of rough usage.
Many people are intimidated about financial matters and that is usually because they have a lack of knowledge. That can be easily corrected if you are willing to take responsibility for gaining the knowledge you need. There are many resources to help you accomplish this. You may choose to attend seminars, read financial publications or talk to those who have the knowledge, such as financial planners.
It is critical that women become more financially astute because too many find themselves in situations where they are unexpectedly in the position of having to manage the family finances because of either death or divorce. Too often, they have no idea what they own or how to manage it. In today’s critical financial environment, it is even more important that everybody become knowledgeable about finances. It does not mean you have to become an expert but it does mean learning some of the basics.
These include, but not limited to, knowing how to develop and live on a budget, how to get the most out of your money, how to maximize your return, knowing techniques to save money, and asking the right questions. This requires some investment of time but it is well worth it in order to increase your knowledge. An important thing is staying on top of your credit. Keep your credit under control. With the high interest rate on credit card debt and the high penalty of paying late or paying the minimum, it is important not to overextend yourself.
So how do you get and maintain good credit. First, get a copy of your credit report. Everyone is entitled to a free credit report from each of the credit bureaus: Transunion, Equifax and Experian. If you have a computer or access to one you can secure your report at.
Your other option is to call each agency: Equifax 800-685-1111; Experian 888-397-3742; Transunion 800-916-8800. Having a computer and knowing how to use it is beneficial because you can go on line and retrieve this information. In addition to getting your credit report, get a copy of your credit score, which is what lenders use to determine your credit worthiness.
Your credit score is based on the following:
o payment history
o outstanding debt
o length of your credit history
o recent inquiries on your credit report
o types of credit in use
Some ways to save money:
o Clipping coupons and sending in rebates
o Using your senior citizens discounts everywhere you can
o Learn when stores have discounts and shop on those days
o Plan trips to save gas
o Save change
Things you need to have in place:
o A will
o A living will or medical directive
o Long-term care insurance
o A trusted financial advisor
Share your information with someone you trust. So many people work all their lives and much of what they accumulate goes to the government or lawyers simply because they have not put a proper plan in place. Vow not to let that happen to you.
You are now in an important phase of your life and you should enjoy it. Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn’t stop to enjoy it. Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something to happen in the future. The time you have now is precious. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.
I say with no hesitation that I hate punks, whatever their race or ethnicity. The reason is that I have known a number of women from the punk side of town, and I have known what the males on the punk side of town like to do to them. I am advocating a three-pronged strategy to do away with the punk way of life and end hooliganism and gangsterism as we know it.
The first is stepping up military recruitment on the punk side of town. These men want to be strong and tough; in the military they will learn to be strong and tough. They will also learn the self-control and discipline that they need in order to be effective. The military will teach them skills that they’ll need to be effective individuals.
With all the scholarships that the military has, these people will then be able to pursue a better way of life outside of where they come from – or, should they choose to return to where they came from, stand to become a strong force for the betterment of their communities.
The second is prison reform. Right now, prisons are a gangster’s paradise where people spend all their time beating up and raping each other. If they were instead to spend that time working, not only would they be reimbursing the taxpayer but they would also be learning skills that they’ll need to stay out of prison when they get out.
The people who go into crime in order to avoid working will have to face reality – namely that they have to work, and it’s the matter of either working while in prison or working while outside of prison. Instead of having a culture that benefits the naturally violent people – the culture of constant fights and rapes – the prisons will become a culture that violent people abhor: The culture of work.
And that will be a major deterrent for these people from committing violent crime, as much as it will do much to prepare these people for constructive employment when they get out.
Finally, the economic basis of punk activity should be pulled out from under their feet. The reason that the punk entities such as gangs, drug cartels and pimps exist, is that there are substances and activities that people demand which are against the law.
If these substances and activities – drugs and prostitution – are instead legalized, then there will be nothing for gangs, drug cartels and pimps to do, and they will have to cease their brutal behavior and find legitimate employment. This makes sense for two other reasons.
One is that, when something that’s in demand is criminalized, only criminals can supply it; and that is the reason for all the ugliness and violence surrounding prostitution and drugs. Another is that it’s not up to the government to tell consenting adults what they can do with their bodies nor to tell adults what they can put into their bodies. Legalize prostitution and drugs, and end the vast bulk of crime as we know it.
The first – military recruitment – will give an opportunity for a better life to people who otherwise would be hooligans or gangsters. The second – working in prison – will provide both a disincentive from violent crime and the skills that these people will need to remain out of the system.
And the third – legalizing drugs and prostitution – will take the economic basis of gang activity from under their feet, so that the people who otherwise would be pimps, gangsters or drug-runners will have to find something legitimate to do.
I am sure that the time for all three of these ideas has come.
